Did you know that it was President Dwight D. Eisenhower who on June 14, 1954 signed a bill that inserted the phrase “Under God” into the United States Pledge of Allegiance? He also declared, “In God We Trust” as our national motto on July 30, 1956.  We’re going to be learning about some of our history, about how our government works, about our freedoms, about how each of us can participate as “We the People” to make our country better “UNDER GOD.”
